Default ES clutch issues?

2006 Foreman 500 ES. If I'm coasting in any gear, I can't down shift. I have to give it a bit of gas then it will shift. When I pulled back into my garage, it almost didn't shift at all...I adjusted the clutch a couple weeks ago and haven't really ridden much since then, would you say I need to "increase" or "decrease". I know you're supposed to turn counter clockwise until resistance felt, then 1/4 turn back to the right. Thought I did that and maybe someone can help? thanks

Anybody?
What will happen as I "increase" and "decreae" the play in the clutch.
I rode again today, and w/ a cool engine it seems smooth as silk and will shift while coasting. After it warms up, seems to not be as smooth and sometimes I have to give it a bit of gas to shift down. Other times works fine.

Try adjusting it again... it takes a light touch. I find it easier to feel the slight resistance if I turn the shaft of the screwdriver rather than the handle. I usually have to go back and forth several times to feel when the reistance starts. Good luck, and come back to let us know what happens...

Oh, and don't forget to make sure that the locknot is backed out plenty before you adjust.
