Does anyone know if the dealerthips are required to fix the (new)recalled ATV's prior to letting them off the premise?

Just curious as I pick mine up this week, and need to make sure mine has been attended to. My VIN#'s fit into the recall. Bummer.

DryFly,

My dealer told me they took care of the Ranchers on hand first. Then as parts came in they would call the others owners. If your dealer die either or both recalls then he has paperwork to submit to Honda to get his techincian reimbursed for is work. Ask to see a copy of the paper work showing you that the recall/updates were completed. If he hesitates then he might be trying to hide something.

DryFly,

Did you pick up the new Rancher yet? Was the recall(A-arm) & update (shift plate) installed by the dealer?

they got the Rancher in yesterday, just in time for me to go take advantage of the $300 in Honda Bucks and get some accessories.

The VIN matches the recall notice, so when they unpack it, they will see if it has been completed, if not, then they have the parts at the ready to fix it right there. I go pick it up Friday..I hope

DryFly..

If the recall is actually a federly mandated recall, they can't sell it untill the "recall" is completed. However, if it's a "service Action" which is what most are, (non federaly mandated but mandated via the factory) they don't have to.

I bought a 2001 Rancher just before the first of the year. I received the recall notice regarding the shift plate but not the A-arm. My dealer said the arm problem may have been resolved prior to the manufacture of my ATV. Does anyone know the serial numbers involved in the A-arm recall?
