Hey how is everybody doing today? I have a 88' TRX250X that i recently purchased...its been beat on and is tired. My question is that it seems to be putting out too much voltage and blowing head light bulbs. The more you rev the engine the brighter the light gets until it blows. I don't have any service information on the quad. I've talked to a few people some say my stator, others say the voltage regulator. Personally I am leaning towards the regulator, but I really don't have any experience with stators either. Does anybody know of any sort of test i can perform before I go replacing parts? Any help would be appreciated

 

Hi everybody...I wanted to thank everybody for there help...oh yeah...wait thats right...nobody gave me any input! Not even a story about there friends atv and its problems....well I fixed the problem....turns out the jack *** that had messed with the wireing before had only attached one poor pathetic ground wire, which was nothing more than a decrepit stripped back wire wrapped around a bolt...and when I touch it it broke...so....a few grounds later and everything works just fine..... So if any of you ever have a over charging problem check your grounds first before you start replacing componets
