Default 1987 250x brake lever

Well i flipped my 250x, and busted the brake lever off, had the local honda shop order me a replacement one, and it wont fit, the end that goes in the part on the grip is different, but they assured me its for a 87 250x. Can anyone provide me with a link to what i need...

Thanks!!

try dgy.com oem part number is 53175-HC0-305. you may or may not be able to find a replacement. its getting harder to find oem parts at the dealers for these older machines.

So i wont be able to find it? Its just the leaver, it snapped half way out. I could probably modd the new leaver to fit, but i dont want to start cutting on it till i know i cant pick up a new one online for under $15 bucks...

When i look it up on http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmot...x-1987/o/m2582

The replacement brake leaver looks different from the one i have, mine doesn't have the thing sticking out past the hole for the screw. It just ends there...

It took some work, but i ended up modding it to work , by cutting down the odd part of the new leaver.

thats good you got it to work.....maybe somewhere down the line since 1987 someone replaced the master cylinder with something off a different machine.

Yea, thanks for the help guys, maybe someone did replace it, it has been a while since it was made...
It was a pain in the butt though, some day i'd like to pick up a drop in replacement, since i'd hate for the screw i had to put in in the back (to keep it from opening up too far) to come out while out on a trail...

there are perks to haveing an atv that has been around for ever, they make plenty of parts for um! most, if not all, 300ex parts will fit right up to the 250x (just not cylinders or cranks). something to keep in mind.
