just adjusted the valves, now no spark
#1
I have a 2005 Rubicon. I just got done adjusting the valves and before I put everything back together, I hooked the fuel tank up and tried to start it to see how it ran. It would turn over but would not start. I took the spark plug out and there was no spark. I found out the tip came off the spark plug and is inside the spark plug boot. Even though the tip came off, shouldn't it still get spark? Has anybody else had this happen?

I did not realize that. So could the piece that is inside the boot be bad? If there is a problem with the boot, can that be replaced?

Now I am getting spark and will start. But now I got another problem. It will not run good at all. It will not idle. If I give it gas, it will stay running but as soon as I let off the gas it will die.
The first time I started it after I got done adjusting the valves, it started right up and would idle but it almost sounded like the choke was pulled out. But after a few seconds, it would not idle anymore.
I am also still getting the rattling noise. So it must be something else besides the valves.
