The UNI is the perfect combination of good airflow and good protection! Actually, I prefer the ProDesign (ProFlow) adapter, which comes with its own cage and a filter made by UNI. (I have had problems with the stock UNI support cage collar collapsing after a while!) That, and an EHS Racing aibox lid with Outerwears.

The stock filter will give you great protection but reduced air flow. The K&N will give you great airflow, but they pass fine dirt.....I know this from first hand experience! Learn from my mistake, don't repeat it!!!

Keep in mind that any major changes in air intake out outflow, will require a rejet!

Uni Filter Big Time for my 420! And Rejeting only for carb not Fuel injected bikes.

And Im glad you agree about the K&N dirt bypass but some people are ignorant about this part and are dead set believing that it filters better. As a GM Tech and doing some own test and customer filters K&N is a great filter for HP/Tourq Gains but in the process More unrestricted air flow = fine dirt bypass and more power gain. That's why stock paper filters out better due to how air restricted paper filter are but NO power advantages at all. But like I said Hard core K&N fan will disagree with my thoughts. Most of the issue are customer not servicing the K&N properly and that's the bigger problems with K&N owners, EXAMPLE a Pontiac GTO 6.0L LS2 came in my shop one day and guess what the K&N filter the customer has in his GTO has NO OIL AT ALL! But also to add I love K&N and own one in my Mustang but I take care of my Filter and oil it properly but for a ATV Utility and the conditions we Mud/ Trail riders use it I'll take UNI hands down. Also If a owned a full blown fixed up Sport bike it will be a K&N because of the power gains It offers. The filter for the situation or purpose your needing it for in other words.

Its a lot I wrote but hope this helps some people out!

I run K&N's on my two Suburbans which see a small amount of dusty off-road use, but I have a wrap on them. It is the "Air Force" wrap from K&N, and they advertised it as being for "extreme off-road use". I don't know if they even sell them anymore, but I just watch the wrap and change it out for a clean oilded up one any time it begins to look even moderately dirty.
