I've got a 91 300 that has a rattle coming from the clutch cover,I had the entire engine apart for rebuild about 3 months ago,really just top end needed rebuild but it had mud in the case from the previous submarine driver.Anyway it rattled prior to teardown,it sounds like the centrifugal clutch but not sure,I know the one way bearing is bad but that should not cause the rattle.The noise is present nearly all the time,possible the shoes are bad in the clutch?? I've got to go back in to install a clutch kit pretty soon.Another question, I have the clutch puller but not a holder for the centrifugal clutch,when I put it back together I used my impact gun which I know is not the correct way to reinstall the centrifugal clutch,is there any tricks to holding it while using a torque wrench to do it right?
