When it was new there should have been an emergency gearshift either under the seat or in the tool kit.. Where the normal gearshift should be on a manual shift model you will see the gearshift post , it will have a 12mm hex on the end for the emergency shifter .. If the shifter is missing you can use a 12mm wrench or 12mm socket to downshift the bike to neutral...

Default Thanks

Thanks for the info I already found it though. I started thinking about it and looked where it would be if it was a manual and made myself a suicide shifter to use and do some riding still.

Don`t mean to jump on your post - but I have a VERY similiar issue ...

2005 electric shift.

My nieces bike - did a spring tune-up on it today (airfilter, oil,New batt, exc) as a B-day present.

Turn the key on & the 1st gear indicator flashes at me 3 times then pauses, over & over.

Start button does nothing.... I`m assuming because the ECU says "no, your in gear"

Won`t downshift into N.

Jump starter solenoid and engine cranks, but won`t fire (with rear wheels off the ground) assuming again, ECU says "no spark for you - your in gear"

Dealer said "Angle Sensor is bad"

What is this and where is it ?

What are your thoughts ?

HELP ... is MUCH appreciated, as I have a little girl here giving me those "please fix it" puppydog eyes.

Thanks

Lightbulb more info

After looking at some pictures I realized the wire the fuse that keeps blowing on runs from the battery to the SW magnetic starter if that magnetic starter is bad could that cause the fuse to blow and is there anyway I can check it to see if it is bad. and for my own knowledge what does the SW stand for if anything

we are having the same issue but sometimes the electric shift works and sometimes it does not. its hard for my kids to have to use a wrench each time they need to shift and obviously they can't shift while driving. we've heard that you can buy a foot pedal to convert it back to manual shift. can anyone tell me where we can get one?

thanks
