96 300 ex

Default 96 300 ex

Hi guys i have a 96 300ex took it out a couple days ago,ran perfect all day ,it was a pretty wet day so there was some water. When i went to pull it off the trailer the next day it wouldnt start i heard a little sizzle and then nothing i have no power at all i know its not the battery because i just took it off the charger the battery is good and still nothing,i also checked the fuse and thats fine any ideas in what could be causing this

Maybe the ignition switch or kill switch got wet? Something definately sounds like it got wet.

although you charged it you may need to try cleaning the terminals up good and put some grease on them afterwards. also make sure you have good clean connections at the solinoid. my 300 used to do the same thing when wet. havent had anymore problems.

ok i just came in from messing around with it and i got it to start by pop starting it once it was running i had full power all lights worked i killed it and re started with button,i washed it let it sit outside to dry went to go start it an hour and a half later nothing no lights no starter, pop started again everything turned back onthat was about a half hour ago just tried to restart fired right up

What do you mean by pop starting it? Popping the clutch while rolling? If that's the case, then I'm with gsjeepxr. It's the battery terminals or the start switch or any connection between the two.

next time it wont start try jumping the 2 screws on the solinoid. if it starts, then youve found your problem. and when you say pop starting, you mean pushing and popn the clutch right?

Yeah im pretty sure i solved the problem it ended up being something really stupid it was my pos. battery cable hope this helps
