Lightbulb 400ex plastics

hello. i'm new to this forum so sorry if this is in the wrong place or anything, but here it goes, just recently, i bought a 2002 400ex, im very proud of it, partially because it has a bunch of mods. but anyways, its a shame how crappy the plastic is, so what i was thinking, after reading a bunch of other posts and articles, here is what i will do:

-first, sand down plastic with increasingly higher grit,

-very lightly blowtorch all the plastic

-buff down all the plastic

-with buffer use non-abrasive polish

and thats my idea. do you think it will work? i really just kinda made a mix of all the different techniques i've heard. if anyone has done this or anything similar please let me know, for i would like to start next weekend. any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

There are some plastic restore products out there. I would check them all out.

Veri fine grit, but it will still take the shine off.
You can then either spray it with clear plastic paint or use the Tire Wet that you can buy at the parts store and apply that frequently.

Buffing may not brighten it because unlike a painted surface to polish the plastic will probably stay dull and look scuffed.
Clear plastic paint is paint that is made to be applied to plastic. Crylon and Rustolium both make paint for plastic. Or you can get some epoxy sealer in a spray can and try that too, it comes in clear.

It will scratch, but you can always apply more.
