How to shift into reverse on a 2001 Recon?

Default How to shift into reverse on a 2001 Recon?

I just got my son a 2001 Honda recon 250. I can figure out how to shift it into reverse. Whats the trick?

you have push the red button down and pull the handbrake before you can put in reverse. its a pain in the ***. get a zip tie, push the button and pull the brake and then shick it between the lever and cable and zip it tight. that will fix that problem.

Yeah, push the red button on the left handle, while holding it down, pull the lever in. Then press down on the shift lever with your foot. You are now in reverse. To get it out, you don't need to do anything except pull up on the shift lever with your foot.

LOL, so thats what the red "R" is. I cant believe I didnt figure that out. Thanks guys. Oh yea, the reverse works.

The reverse mod is probably one of the best things you can do. Makes it so much easier to get into reverse when on the trails.
