Jeff that is exactly what the honda dealer is saying. Said it could be up to $1600 to fix, depending on what needs done.

 

i had a 00 sportsman. i sunk it in a river 2 yrs later. it took in water and shut off. i got it pulled home. drained everything. took the spark plug out. and left over night to dry out. it had round 2k miles on it. i sold it last yr with 7k miles on it. 90% miles were road. it never burned oil. and always ran like a top. if yours was mudded. i can see dirt and what not getting in over time and doing dammage. and if the prv owner took it apart. who knows.
