i have a yellow 400ex and if you seem y quad and say it isnt one of the phatest ex's youve ever seen, you need to pass what you are smoking...most the peeps that complain about the yellow are ones that wish the had it or have red and want to be different...how come honda has to stick with red>?....lets count how many colors yamaha puts out.....its good to vary! so quit putting crap down and just ride....and yes ill send you apic as soon as i get back to carolina and make some scans in my design class....

Screw how ugly it is....
Isn't it fuel injected? I can't wait to see how well/bad that fuel injection works.

Christ I dont think it looks that bad. I swear everone on this fourm N/M. Anyway I think its awsome that an American company beat Suzuki and Kawasaki to the punch in the Bigbore sportquad world. 7,950 yes but it also comes with a bunch of extras like an FMF pipe Holeshot tires and more. So straight from the showroom it will be a purebred RACER!

Regarding the color options offered and not offered by honda, I wish they'd come back with white plastic with either red or blue accents like the '87 250R's. Or any combinations of accents as long as the plastic is white like the '86, '87, and '89 250R.

Ugly....maybe a little, good....don't know, but it looks inovative and the intake being in the front and exaust out the rear sounds like a good idea to me. Fuel injection sounds really good too, no jetting or anything, just bolt on the mods and go! For many people this could be a convenience. I know a few people that have melted pistons cause of improper jetting, this would also make more people want to put on aftermarket mods like pipes and filters because there would be zero chance of damaging the engine due to improper jetting.
just my two cents

I see the EFI as a positive. If it works like it does on cars, it'll be great. Here's an example. You buy a new silencer(I hate FMF) and bolt it on. The EFI compensates for the fuel changes and balances itself. The only time you'd have to mess with the computer would be if you made a major change(increase bore/stroke, turbo, etc.) Now there's an idea...a turbocharger...ohhh!!!
Here's another thing to think about. When it's 10 degrees outside(like it was here), instead of messing with the choke, hit the starter and off you go. That is if it's similar to a vehicle's EFI.

You might think that $8000 is high, but for your money it will have at least $1500 woth of option. It comes with ITP rims and tires, steel brake lines, and Ohilions(spelling) shocks. These were the what I could see. I though that it had a Big GUN exhaust but it did not look like one. You have to remember that this quad was built to rae not to play ride like the Honda and Yamaha. When you buy a race quad it will cost more. There was another new quad at the show wanting to be made by another company using a 4-stroke engine. They said that if you see it in a year and the cost would be over $10,000 and it will have only one use, racing. Also, the Suzuki will be in the dealers by June of this year. Doug Gust will be using one this year at the GNC instead of the 250R. It going to be an interesting year, maybe.

tprender, Doug Gust is going to be using what at the GNC's this year? It sounded like you meant the Suzuki, but I wondered if you meant the Cannondale? I was curious to see if any of the pros would end up riding any of the new quads and I figured the Cannondale would be likely. Where did you here what Gust will be riding? Let us know if you have any further inside information.
