Question 2002 Honda 250ex

Curious if anyone has had this same problem with the Honda 250ex
My son and I do a lot of riding in mud and water. Everytime we do the rear brake sytem gets mud and water in it and it has to be completly tore down and sprayed out before we get any brakes back.

I there a way to waterproof the rear brakes on this quad?
Thanks

I thought there's a rubber ring that seals it up? Man, that thing is not easy to tear down either.

Yeah it really sucks so what happens is that my son winds up riding it without any back brake until we can get it cleaned out.

I have tried replacing the felt dust cover around the brake arm with an O ring and using gasket seal on the outer cover but even this has not helped.

Go through the service manual and be sure you have everything properly assembled and all the seals are there.

Thanks for the help on these issues. I have always had and worked on YZ 250's so these quads are out of my realm but i am trying.

Thanks for the information. I do not have a manual but i do have the microfish pictures on-line. they have been a great help and i have checked top to bottom making sure that all is in place. I did replace as many seals as i could and i used gasket seal as well. We just got back from a week of creeks and mud holes and it seems to have kept the water out. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thank you all for the help.
Out for fun
