02 Rubicon 500 Drive Problems

Default 02 Rubicon 500 Drive Problems

last time i went for a ride i heard a clunk from the front of the motor and now only got front wheel drive. any ideas?

better take a look at the rear drive shaft. welcome to the forums, by the way!

thanks, another question tho, i was also told that there is a chain drive in the transfer case, is this correct cause that could be the problem as well, what i'm wondering is if the drive system can be taken apart separate from taking the engine apart? i dont have a service manual thats why i ask

No there is no chain drive or transfer case in a Rubicon , the sub-transmission is gear driven ... The chain you were told about was probably the oil pump drive chain but if you have front wheel drive that won't be your problem .. I would first check the rear universal joint & rear drive shaft ..
