Future 400ex plans

i have never had the need for a reverse w/ my old 400ex. usually you can just spin the tires and turn around. and when i couldn't do that i didn't have to get off i just put my foot down and pushed back. you can easily kill a warrior w/ a 400ex too

a 400ex will do everything better than a warrior except reverse, dont be a lazy ***, get off and push it. or you could just be a good rider and never get stuck and have to reverse.

Lifted, do yourself a favor and look at a 400 Scrambler 2X4. For about the same price as the Warrior, you can get a liquid cooled 2 stroke quad that will run with the 400ex (that's a bunch more money) out in the real world.
With the money that you save over the ex, get a pipe & silencer, clutch kit, air filter ( about $325.00 ) and a stock 400ex will choke on your dust.
Before the honda guys get mad and start screaming about "Polaris' Poor Reliablity", the quality control has improved signifcantly over just 2 years ago, where as it looks like hondas QC is slipping with the recalls of late.
Next, they're going to tell you about all of the zerk fittings to grease. Yes there are a few, and they allow you put new lubricant into the bearings and flush out any contaminants. Honda just wants you to buy new parts.
Reverse was a VERY IMPORTANT consideration in my purchase of a sport quad. My 300 honda spends about 25% of it's time in reverse because it takes so much space to turn. If you want to jump off the quad and push it every time you want to back up, get the ex.
It's easy to push a quad in Nebraska, it's billiard table flat - no hills.
I use reverse all the time on the Scrambler to go places that I would never dream of taking a 400EX. I ride in mountainous thick woods in south central Alabama, with some of the worst red clay mud on the planet. You want me to get off my "lazy a$$" and push a quad uphill in this stuff? Sorry, I'm much smarter than that. If I wanted to to do it heel to toe, I'd save a bunch of money and buy a good pair of hiking boots.

Only on the Honda, The Scrambler is much more nimble and turns on a dime.
The Honda steers like a piano, it takes 3 and 4 point turns on narrow trails to turn it around. It's 3 wheel drive so I can't spin the rear tires to get the rear end to swing around. I've seen 18 wheel tractor - trailers turn sharper than this hog. The turning radius is slightly smaller than a Nimitz class aircraft carrier...
I admit it, I made a poor choice when I bought this quad. I won't repeat the mistake.
