i have a 01 400ex with 440 big bore and a 4 mm crank to make it a 460 stroker i did run good now it will rev up fine in neutral but when in gear and moving it misses i clean the carb it didnt seam to help any please give me some ideas to try to get it to run right agean i have no clue thankyou

 

did it start acting up all at once or did it just get worse over time?

 

i got it from a friend he raced it it ran fine for him it started to miss same day i bought it i put a new plug in it that didnt help so i thought maby it was the carb but that didnt help eather he says he didnt have any problims so i have no clue but from what i know all at same time

 

i would really really clean the carb, or look for a bad wire

 

i did clean it good i took all the jets out and everything ill do it agean tho but y dont it do it in neutral and when i ride it and it dose it i can pull in the clutch and it revs up fine ill play with the wires today tho ill try anything anyone tells me couse i have no clue i always had a gasgas dirtbike this is my 1st atv

 

I saw your ad about it only revs up so high when your in gear. My buddy has a 660 raptor and im not sure what year exactly they starting doing this but we put an emergency brake block off on it and it did the same thing. In the clutch lever wear you would put the emergency brake on i guess there is a sensor and it will only let it rev so high when in gear because it thought the emergency brake was on but i just thought id throw that out there.
