yeh, you can use any plow blade and push tube, and just find the same style mount plate, as for the light if your lookin for a used one check on ebay, and if you want new, go to bikebandit.com for all your OEM parts needs

My first quad was a 86' Honda TRX350FM Foreman 4x4 with the headlight mounted in the middle of the handle bars , i know that the Honda Foremans manufactured from 85' to 88' were built the same with the metal fuel tank mounted under the seat with the heavy straight axle front differencial ; they were built like Sherman tanks and took some seat time to learn to man handle these brutes took alot of strenth to handle.Originally Posted by torr58

If one wheel dropped off into a hole or deep rut the other one would come off the ground and the same thing with the double rear shocks on the rear swingarm , the first time i rode on a gullied out trail when that front wheel came off the ground it scarred me really bad ; but within a month i had mastered this quad by pouring on the coal and thowing my body weight around to keep it under control ( nevr had a proble after that.
I never had a problem with a blown head lamp in all the yrs i owned it ( 86' to 2005 ) when i sold it to my youngest brother in late 2005 so i don't know if you can just install a bulb in the head lamp ! , if it doesn't have a replaceable bulb it would be very expensive to replace the entire haed lamp with a new O.E.M. part ; so ebay or craigslist.com would be the best place to get a used one !
Hope this is some help to you and welcome to the forums , and good luck with the quad ; williebee !........

Ya just cant beat an old Honda... but was the front differential posi? if it was, I dont know how you drove it! But still...No cvt joints to break? no boots to replace? Thats how honda got the best name in the market! What kind of suspension did that have? if it was straight axle was it Semi Independant in the front?? If not, it must've been like riding something with solid mounted wheels because it has no give rather then up and down..
yeah, this is a tank, it rides like a mule. it almost feels like I can pull a house down with it. I was surprised by the power and toughness, but, I am unfamiliar with atvs, seen hundreds but only driven about a dozen or so. I drive a jeep cherokee, manual, 4x4, two door, its a unibody so i get the same feeling driving that as the atv, just simple brute, bones, and some dependable muscle. and yes, when one tire is in a hole you teeter todder back and forth so you gotta use your bodyweight. Im a heavy guy so i can manipulate it well and go anywhere with it.
to clear up some confusion, I am looking for the entire detatchable headlight mount kit, apparently it was an option at purchase, now to buy one off of an OEM site it would be around $300 at least, If I have to I will mount a spot light and adapt it to the atv. I can anticipate it being necessary when I start plowing snow this winter as the two smaller head lights wont beam over the plow very well, but maybe not.
I also would like to find a whole plow setup kit for less than a small fortune, the dealers are expensive as hell.

No it front diff wasn't possitive traction it was a limited slip diff. and the stock tires were 25x10x11's front and rear on the 86' to at least 88' year model witch made it even harder to steer , if the diff had been possitive traction it would've made it almost impossible to steer like having a diff locker on all the time ; and it did have u'joints on the end of the axle with one CV boot but the stock boot was made of a tough leather that last almost forever the way it was protected with guards and the fact that it located so close to the wheel well and backing plate !Originally Posted by fourtraxhonda300

The suspension was double Macpearson struts on the 86' to at least 88' and it was a Teddy Roseavelt ( rough rider ) when going slow over rocky terrain , but at high speed runs over the same conditions it actually gave me a smoother ride that my 93' Suzuki LT4WD 300 KQ IRS quadrunner 4x4 ; i only had to replace one CV boot and wheel bearing on the right front wheel , one bearing on the right rear swing arm axle in 16 yrs. !
But before i sold it to my brother i had to replace the fuel tank (my fault) riding up and down a creek and hit a hole that i had gone through 100's of times riding single , but this time i was doubling with a cousin with me when water came up to the seat ; fuel tank mounted under the seat you can guess how the water got in tank !
And another thing about having to man handle this quad i lost 20 lbs the first 3 month's of riding , i'm a bilateral amputee ( both legs off just below the knees) from and automobile wreak i 1975 and it help me to build up my upper body strenth to the point i was nicknamed Popeye by the phyical therapic's at my local hospital ; all in all these quads were the toughest quads i thing Honda ever built !....

We used to have one like this at a golf course i used work at. We pulled a blower with it. The thing was awesome. Could go anywhere you pointed it. It was the first quad I ever drove, so I never realized how rough it rode until I got on some newer ones.
They are a work horse for sure.

so i come to realize I can not use a swisher plow and univeral attatchment because it is a straight/solid front axle, im assuming the push tube cant get under it which would mean nothing would get under it, so, I think I am screwed. unless someone has any ideas I guess im just going to have to sell it b/c i cannot go another winter without plowing the driveway.
can anyone offer some suggestions on how to get around this?
I bought a winch as well, guess what, nothing to bolt or weld it to, i know it snowed in the 80's, what gives???
