suggestions for a new quad
#51
To try to give you some help.
I have never driven a 400ex, but have always read they are reliable, quick quades, and handle well.
I have had a Warrior, Blaster, 2 x Quadracer 250, and a couple 3 wheelers, now I ride a 400 Rancher FA with mudlites.
All are a blast, and all had there place. 15 years ago, getting stuck, soaked head to toe, and lifting out my Warrior was "fun", and we road woods, and mud, and stripped rail lines.
Now I do similar riding, a lot more mud, and have just as much fun on my rancher, only down side is 40 MPH is a little slow for me (I have a speed issue). But winches are a great invention!!
Best suggestion is go test drive as many bikes as you can, you never know what will fit you best, or suit you best.
My rancher was originally my wifes bike as I "don't ride auto's".. now I like it..
Everyone has opinions, but having fun is all that matters.

i have a 85 200x which is all sport, and i just picked up a 08 arctic cat 700 efi "utility". the utility will go almost 70mph, has a full foot if ground clearance, with great suspension. i dont see what you could do with a sport that i cant do with my new 700 besides racing (which i dont do, thats what sleds are for.) its very fast and has a very sporty ride. i can just give an honest opinion since i own both, but utility is the only way to go.

ok the guy says he likes to trail ride and jump, thats what the ex is made for are the utes,um no.this will be my last post.its like somebody said ride em before you buy em,youll see the ute is not made for what you want and the extra ground clearance just makes it handle worse and flips or rolls over easier.but im sure the ute owners will tell you different.
