What is the difference between the 01 250ex and the 01 300ex. I ride Polaris and am investigating these 2 quads for my g/f. She only trail rides, doesn't jump (on purpose), been riding for 3 yrs, and weighs 130 pds. She started out on a quad, got a bike last year, now wants to move back to a quad.

Any help would be appreciated.

thankz,
darren

dude, buy her the 250EX... I just got my fiancee' one a month ago and she loves it!

the 250EX has an automatic clutch, easier-to-use reverse, and a handlbar mounted choke.

it's almost as fast as the 300 and has only an inch less suspension travel, which is more than enough for "trail-type jumps"

it's a little smaller too, which will help when maneuvering thru tight woods.

heck, I like it so much, I might sell my '91 250X and get a new 250EX

Yeah get her a 250ex. It will be easier on your wallet. The 300ex is going to be discontinued anyway.

DSAPP! what are you thinking???

where did you hear that they are discontining the 300ex?

that would be a huge mistake!! its one of the best quads out there..

all i ever see is 300ex around here

naaaaaaaaaaaaaah... I'm not selling my 250X, I like it too much...

the only way I'd sell it was if they put reverse on the 400EX, then I'd buy one of those.

It's just the logical deduction. They will have the 250ex for trail riders and the 400ex for mxers or just more aggressive riders. I agree the 300ex is a good quad but I know it's going to happen. Think about it!

Thanks for the responses! What about rear tires? She likes "the rear tire smaller than front tire" look, any suggestions on tires?? Would this help performance at all?

thankz

the stock tires on the 250ex should be fine. When you have to replace go with a good name brand with a 6-ply, there a little heavier but will hold up better on the trails and nothing larger than 22x10-11x9 rear.
