Alright, I know some of you are going to read the title and are probably thinking "how stupid s the guy"? But hear me out. I got an offer today on my 86 TRX250r today for a possible trade for a 2004 Honda 400ex. Obviously I already know that stock on stock the 250r is a faster bike and definitely a more rare bike. Yes it has been a great quad for me the past 4 years now but I only ride trails/mud/snow now and the 250r is just getting to be too loud for my neighborhood as well as too fast for the remaining trails around these parts. From what I have seen the 400ex is all stock, clean title, looks nice in the pictures, and I have been told it runs good too. I haven't seen it in person yet, it's about 50 miles away, and obviously if I show up to junk the trade is not going to happen. So I guess what do you all think, pretty fair trade or no?

 

I think you'll regret getting rid of the 250r. That quad is historic, classic, forever in the honor roll of quadom. I would hold onto it and $ave for a 400ex.

 

totally agree. keep the 250R, save up and get a good all around machine. id look at a 2005 & up 400ex, b/c reverse is nice sometimes... not essential but nice to have.

 

yea, think I am going to hold onto it, if I trade it for anything it's going to be a sportbike for the track...
