Recon sputtering
Hello its been a couple years sense i have posted on this site. Anyways, i have a 99 recon and i pulled it out of the shed to ride it in the snow today, its been a few months sense its been ridin. But it's weird, the bike will idle just fine but when you start to rev up the engine you have to pull the choke or it will just sputter. i rode it like that for a couple hours and it acted that way the whole time. do you guys think the carb just needs cleaned or what? thanks for any advice.

If it's been a couple months, the first thing that comes to mind is ethanol. It doesnt take but a few weeks for fuel to ruin now and those chrystals that form from fuel mixed with ethanol are a pain for ATV riders who don't run their quads that often.
I would drain your tank, clean the carb, and put in fresh fuel.
I would also recommend you look into purchasing a bottle of starbrite fuel additive so you will not run into this again. This is the product of the century for ATV riders who go several weeks on one tank of fuel...it eliminates the effects of ethanol along with stabilizing the fuel during storage.
