I have an 08 420AT with 14" ITP SS106 with 27" STI Mudtraxx noticed some low end power loss when going through ditches got an inexpensive power chip and it returned the power that was lost.

Default Power chip?

Tell me about the power chip Agu01. How much was it? Where did you get it and did you install it yourself? If so was it easy to install? That sounds like a great remedy to the bigger tire issue.

I just mounted 25" ITP Mud Lites on stock wheels. They look awesome and they grip. I haven't spent much time yet riding but will update and post a picture ASAP. I can't really tell one way or the other if the diameter has cost me bottom end...The stock tires were slipping and sliding so much I feel like I'm on a stump puller now!

I'm most interested in knowing how well the mud lites do on the trails. I don't ride alot of mud but I do cross some creeks and do a majority of trail riding so if you could give me feedback on that it would be greatly appreciated. As for the stock tires I agree about the slip and slide affect. All this debate about what tire to get has told me one thing for sure, no matter what tire I get it's gonna be alot better than my stock tire!!!!

I run mudlites and they are great tires, they dont ride too rough, grab like crazy, hold up real well, we have alot of road routes so i last summer had quite a bit of road riding (cement) and they hold up well.

im looking at Carlisle Black Rocks for this honda next.

1st gear is fine. I think where you really notice it is going through the gears. I shift out of first really quick anyway. I have the 26x12-12's on the back and 26x10-12's on front (ITP 589's). My next set , I'm thinking of going to 25x10's and 25x9's to shed some weight and get better acceleration. I wish I had something for comparison sake to tell you because these tires were on it when I bought it.
