Default Video of my old 1986 TRX200SX

Hey everyone, I always come across talk of the TRX200SX on here so I was at my fathers house today cutting firewood and figured id take a quick video of my trx200sx as it needed to be ridden anyway pretty simple to do these days when your phone has a video camera on it. This machine is amazing, pretty beat up but I would still trust it on a long ride as it has never let me down. Take note I am now 180lbs and the maching still reved 5th out on the small uphill after the UPS truck!. sorry for filming the headlight so much, whoops

Great quads. I heard you mention piston slap. Are you sure it's not the valves needing adjustment? It's very easy on the 86 200sx.

My older sis and her husband had one of these back in '86. I had a blast on that thing. The 200 and the early 90's 300's were bulletprooof. Amazing how many are still around and running great.

im sure its piston slap or a rod- its a deep knock rather than a tick. the knock is only on the power stroke on a cold engine. it sues a shim bucket valve train right? so do you need to replace shim's to adjust them?

Heck no. You open a small plate on the left side and you'll see the valve adjustment thing in there. All you do is loosten a screw and rotate the adjustment plate to .003. Of course you also need to be on the top of the compression stroke.
