Oil Change??
#2
I usually try to change my quads' oil every 20 hours or so riding time. Some may say this is excessive, but on machines with capacities of two qts. or so the oil tends to break down quickly in hard riding. Oil is cheap....engine rebuilds are not.

I have a Recon too and I change the oil every 20 hours. The oil, besides just lubricating the motor also helps to cool the motor and as it breaks down,(gets dirty) it also loses its ability to transfer the heat as effectively. I hope this helps. Now, Go ridin'.

Greg Hall (Tech Connection) recommends you change your oil after every five tanks of gas and clean the air filter after every ten. This might equate to about 30 hours of run time between oil changes.
