2009 Honda Rincon
#1
Hi, just recently bought a used 2009 Honda Rincon.
I don't have an owner's manual for this. Does anyone have one that they can share? The nearest dealer is about a few hour drive from here.
I want to change the oil in quad but can't seem to locate the drain plug. I haven't it taken apart yet but assumed the oil filter is somewhere located behind the pastics. How many quarts/litres does the quad take? And how to clear the oil change message.
Also, I want to install a winch on it. Does anyone have any pics of how they have mounted their winch and where to mount the contacts? There is no room under the seat.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Kevin

You'll find your answers over on RinconRiders.com pretty easy. Mine is new enough, I haven't changed the oil yet. The filter is on the right side and the access is visable without taking anything off. I put a Warn XT-30 winch on mine. I attached the contactor to the back side of the airbox, under the seat. The remote receiver is attached to the right side of the crossbar at the back side and under the seat, with wire ties. Snug fit but it all works.

I have an XT30 on mine, also. Back of the airbox is generally the most popular place to put the contactor. I made a bracket off of one of the fender supports to put the wireless receiver.
The drain plug is at the back of the engine, kind of horizontal. I think 17mm nut if I recall correctly. You will see the hole in the skid plate.
As you look at the right side of the machine, the oil filter is under the round cover at the front of the engine.
Other stuff:
Valve clearance Intake .15mm intake, .33mm exhaust
Oil must meet JASO MA, API SG or higher 10W-40 for most temps
3.1 quarts with filter change
25 Nm torque drain plug
18 Nm for filter bolt
7/16" toe out as measured at tire tread
To get an accurate oil level reading on these, they need to idle for about 4 minutes (no throttle blipping) and sit for a couple minutes. Level is read by setting the dipstick on the threads, without screwing it in.
A service manual would be a good investment if you are going to do your own work.
I think there area a bunch of winch install photos in my gallery over at Rincon Riders.
Enjoy the quad, and welcome to the forum.
