Default tire ride quality

looking at getting 25" mudlite tires on ss312 rims. problem is i am not sure if i should get xl that has 1 1/8 " lug or at that has 3/4 " lug. i have a 2007 trx 420fm. most of my riding is on the trail. would like xl but not sure if the ride would be rough and i would loose power. any help or suggestions would be helpfull.

I have the XL and they ride the general trails well enough, The great thing is when there haft bald they still look better then new Mud Lite "ATs". There a in between Mud lite tire ,still not as aggressive as there XXLs.

I would think a 420cc ATV with turn 25" tire without a sweat. I would hope anyways my 350 Big Bear could.

You could ride your 420 with 1 set then the other and you would not notice much if any difference in ride. Either one will ride a bit rougher than stock but that is true with any after market mud/trail tire. Friend of mine has 26" 589's on a 420 rancher and he turns them pretty decent.

The less the tire weighs generally the better the ride is.

Radials also generally ride better.

I suppose it is a matter of how much mud you ride, and how much hard surface/rocks.
