Default 300ex help ASAP !!!!!!! might be seized

ok so my 1997 300ex has been smokin for a little now and ive only ridden it for maybe an hour after it started to burn oil and i was told to keep adding oil and get a top end rebuild this winter but today i took it out and it ran fine i checked the oil before i left and it was at the full mark but while i was sitting idling my motor just cut out so i went to start it and the starter was working but it wouldnt fire so i tried to pop the clutch and all the rear wheels did was lock up and i was being towed pretty fast so idk what happened but now she wont start and i can put in neutral so that rules it being stuck in gear but im leaning more and more towards the fact it might be seized so my season is over for now and maybe forever so if anyone can help please do i need help asap

Thumbs up

Was the starter turning the motor over? You said your starter worked if its turning the motor over your motor is not locked up. What gear did you have it in when you tried to pull start it ? Try pulling it in 3rd gear . If it is locked up you can find a ton of parts for these on ebay

If you tried in 1st gear depending on the terrain the wheels might not turn . If its gravel or on grass the wheels wont get any traction . You can try it in 4th or 5th gear it doesnt matter what gear you are in when you pop the clutch . You can also take the spark plug out when you try to start your bike with the starter . Leave the plug out and put the bike in 3rd gear you should be able to push it by hand and see if its turning over . good luck

Ok so I went to try and start it today and i took the plug out and it had spark (shocked my friend) so I put it back in but when seeing if it had spark the exhaust was coming out of the spark plug hole so it's not seized but I think the cam is messed up or the valves no exhaust was going out the exhaust so I'm sending it in for a top end and a hole in the cylinder re tapped and hopeully they can fix it so it runs but idk what it could be so if anyone has any idea it would be great to explain

I'm not quite following what you are saying...

When you spun it with the plug out, you got fumes out of the spark plug hole? If so, I wouldn't worry about it.

What did the spark plug look like? (oil fouling could have stopped it from running)

The next thing I would be doing would be a compression test.

Ya there was definitly oil on the plug and yeah there was stuff coming from the spark plug hole and there are no exhaust gases coming out of the head so I'm pretty sure the valves are messed up so idk what to do

Well, with no spark plug in, not pumping anything out the exhaust would be expected.

Since it is known to burn oil, I'd say most likely it needs at least rings, possibly a cylinder rebore and new piston.

Do you have a service manual?

Well I tried it with the plug in and still no exhaust gases but I heard the valve seals go bad but even with the plug in it wouldn't start I'm really thinking it's the valves and no I don't have a manual

In any case, it sounds like the top end needs to come apart.
