What happens if you blow the motor on a 440EX (top end), do you need to buy a new head? Can it be bored out more? How much is a stock head?? Are they real reliable when tuned right for he long run? I am thinking about buying one today, so I need to know kinda fast. Please only answer with info you know for a fact so I can count on what I read. I appreciate it.

what does "blow the motor" mean? ushaly the sleve would be the first thing that would be messed up and if it was to bad to use you would need to resleve the cylinder if it was not to bad you might be ok with a hone to clean it up. If you have some thing came lose in the engine you might neea a new head if it is messed up. It all depends what happens in there.

I"blew my top end" on my 440 but all that actually happened was one of the head studs had pulled out causing a loss of compression, all it needed to fix it was an insert and a new gasket.Until you actually know what happened its hard to say what It'll cost to fix.
