Congrats on your purchase! Great quad! I have owned 2 myself. BTW Kevin Rincon is a IRS 3 speed auto.

The no low range especially in a big Bore Utility is a down side in every review I read about them.

IMO, the biggest downfall on the Rincon is the transmission. We used to have a 2003 Rincon and that was the biggest reason we got rid of it. Even for a trail machine, it is not that good. Especially when going down hill, there is no engine braking below 10mph.

The new rincons are all set.. I have a 06 and the engine braking on it is fine it will hold me back at about 10-12mph if it gets faster it does have brakes..Not to mention super duper engine braking isnt that important to alot of people. It is the best handling 4x4 out there and it rides like a dream.. The 3 speed works perfectly for 99% of regular trail riding..

things to do is make sure the oil is at the correct level and I would switch to a high quality synthetic oil like ams oil 0-40 atv oil.. make sure if you choose a different oil that it is compatible with wet clutches otherwise it could have friction modifiers that arent good for atv engines.

If you replace the stock tires i would stay near stock size maybe an inch bigger ..not only does it rob alot of power from the machine but ruins the handling.

Other than that it is the best trail cruiser I have ever ridden..

Ohhh and make sure that the machine is at a regular idle before jamming it in gear I have seen people mess up the tranny a little jamming it back in forth in mudholes..
