Hello i have a 87 honda trx350 fourtrax 4x4 runs great haven't had any trouble with it until recently. The problem i am having is sometimes when i shut it off after riding and start it back up to ride when i put it in gear it stalls it has only did this to me a couple of times but this last time it did this to me it was idling in neutral for about 10 min. went to go and kept stalling everytime i put it in 1st gear left it sit for about half hour ran fine went right into gear and did not stall.Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this to happen? Thank You

 

Feel like you turned the key off when you slide it into gear? Had the same trouble with mine. Turned out to be the neutral switch. I just grounded the switch (lower cover right side, very bottom, 2 8mm bolts holding it on.). I ended up just cutting the wire and putting a ring terminal on the end.

The neutral light is always on, but I'm used to riding sport quads and bikes that don't have a light at all. It also allows you to start the bike in gear.

 

where exactly is the switch? i think mine is doing that. got it running after about ten years of sitting and the lights stays on all the time. never did before. now it wont start at all. thinking its a grounding problem. maybe that?

 

If you look at the right side, there's a very small black metal cover. There's only 2 8mm bolts holding it on. It's right around the foot pegs.
