hey guys need a little help

Default hey guys need a little help

hey guys i need help i have a 2006 honda rancher 400 at and its running ok but you can smell gas burning are there any adjustments on the carb i dont have a book for it and it has 3000 miles on it it used to run about 55 and now it will only hit about 45 i have never had the vaules checked should i have them looked at? got any diagrams? and i need to change my back breaks and never have done that i am a newbee lol any help would great

you can smell gas burnin? what do u mean? obviously you would smell gas burning when the engines on..do u mean oil burning?

not is smells like its burning way to rich or not burning the gas right i it has a little black smoke when you first start it

Black smoke means that it's running rich. Is the black smoke only at startup?

no it does it for a while i put some seafoam in it maybe a little to much could that cause it and are they any ways too adjust it ?

On the above link click on the carb and it will show you the breakdown of the carb, the pilot jet is #7 screw set and I believe the idle adjustment is #9 screw set.

I have put in a little too much Seafoam before and didn't have any problems. If you haven't replaced your spark plug lately you may want to change it.
