Default Well i finally got a 450R :D

Well i finally got a 450R!!! And so far a love it! Only problem is the guy took the spark arrester out of the muffler so its way to loud for my liking.. So i will have to get ether a new spark arrester of just buy a new stock muffler off ebay... As far as aftermarked stuff it doesn't have much besides frame and swingarm skid plates, a sintrifilcal clutch (or how ever you spell it. its just like a auto clutch but you can still manually pull it in if you want to rev and dump it) a twist throttle and a houser steering stem and bar clamps.

Forget stock! Look into one of the new gen slip ons that will do 94dB instead. FMF makes a few that aren't to bad. HMF is killer though, and only $300.00. I am sure there are others out there as well.

looks awesome! for the money, stock is good, but I would rather go aftermarket for the power upgrades. then it saves you from having to throw extra money if you want a slip-on down the road

Yes, you will have to rejet, but it is fairly easy. If you look around, the interwebz should be able to supply you with a decent aftermarket exhaust. Many of the older ones are pretty loud though, most manufacturers are just now starting to turn out quieter systems for the new AMA regulations. For the record, I ran a LEXX for a while on my YFZ. It was quiet, powerful, and cheap. Ultimately I switched to something else, but might be something you are interested in.

Hm alright, is the muffler different on the 06-08 and the 04-05 one? Im still probably going to ether find another spark arrester or get a new stock muffler because theres other stuff like nerf bars that i would rater spend my money on right now.

when i acquired my R in trade, i thought the owner took the exhaust baffle out but come to find out it has the HRC tip on it with the HRC upgrades. are you missing the end cap, or is there a screen in the end cap where a baffle used to do? if so, you might have the HRC kit in your R and there fore is jetted already for a slip on but would be a little rich of stock pipe

Im 100% sure its the stock tip with the baffle taken out. because it looks just like the stock tip but without the 1" stock outlet.

thats exactly what the HRC exhaust tip looks like. does it say HRC on it? if not then you are probably correct, another way of telling is if the air box lid has a section removed with a curved piece that still covers the air filter. i thought my R was all stock and come to find out it has the HRC kit in it that i was going to buy for it anyways.
