Default Dynojet kit or just buy a few main jets?

I have an '03 recon, and was wondering if it is worth buying a dynojet kit, or just buying some main jets and tuning the carb. Is the needle you get with the dynojet kit that makes it worth it? Thanks.

Have you added an aftermarket exhaust and K&N (or similar) air filter?

Uni air filter, opened up the snorkel, and exhaust.

Just wanted to make sure you actually needed to rejet.

The answer is yes and no. The kit will have the new needle, which if it has a different tape would make a difference, but so would moving the clip on your current needle. Plus, it has a variety so you get a little bit better chance on getting the tuning just right for your qaud. But, you could buy the jets for roughly 3-4 bucks a piece. So if you know for sure which you needed you could save some cash there.

I did buy a kit for my quad, but I got it off ebay at a much better price than most parts stores.

I've got 90 up to 110 main jets now. Wasn't sure if the taper of the dynojet needle was a big improvement. There is a kit on ebay for a fair price now, just dont know if it is worth it over just using regular jets.

If you find you'll be going through a lot of altitude changes, it may be worth it. If it gives you a little better piece of mind, that may be worth it too.

No big altitude changes anymore. When I lived in colorado I could ride around my house at just under 5,500ft and would go camping and ride up to over 11,000ft. Now, living in the boise, id area, I will be riding around 2,700 - 6,000 ft.
