Default 06 450R Jetting

I dont want to have to Jet my carb, i have heard that it would not be a good idea to even put a k&n air filter on without jetting it?? Is this true, and i thought about putting a slip on exhaust, would it need to be jetted for that too? what do ya think?

The reason you add mods is to give the engine more power. More fuel+more air= more power.
So if your jetting is on the money now and you add mods to increase air flow, then yes, your going to have to rejet to add fuel.

You can add a slip on, it mite just back fire on u or pop. But honestly a jet kit is only $50, and it has stage 1 and 2 in the box. Then get ur mods.

other ways to be faster without rejetting are change your front sproket less teeth for more bottom end more teeth for top end. Also the rear tires have a huge effect on the amount of pull your quad has.( what goods the power with out putting it to the ground.) I have also heard of "power wings" for sport Atv's they go in front of the carb and are supposed to speed the air going in the cylinder. and i was told there was no jetting required for those. The ad i looked at called it the best mod for under $100 bucks.
