I have a brain teaser for you guys. My little brother bought a Recon and it ran fine for a little while then it messed up. well we thought it was the piston rings. well we took the top end of the motor off and check and it wasn't the rings. so we put it back together and now we arent sure if we have it timed right. If anyone could help me out on how to do this i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

 

This engine times at the bottom, time shouldve changed just removing top end of engine, unless you got value lash wrong or push rod not in followers bucket. What is engine doing?

 

it just turns over. wont actually turn on. it gets excellent fire and plenty of gas. friend down the road said the valve lash could be the problem too. but we dont really know what else could be wrong with it
