I have a 2000 Honda Recon 250, electric start didn't work but pull did, now it won't start at all. New battery installed, replaced the starter relay solenoid, new plug, oil change, air breather change, removed/cleaned/reinstalled carb, emptied gas tank and put fresh gas in tank.

Get nothing off the starter button on handlebar. Use to jump to the starter and it would start and run, now nothing, just cranks.

When I first picked it up it would pull start no probs after 3-4 pulls, now nothing not even off the pull starter. It will crank all day long. Spark seems week off the plug but I put the plug in another machine and it sparks big and bright.

Any help is appreciated.

 

My guess is you need a new CDI box and you have another seperate problem with the wiring or starter is why the starter button won't work. But the two problems are not related. There is no fix for a CDI except to buy a new one. They aren't cheap. The fix for the starter problem is to first check all fuses, then check wiring, then check/replace the starter.
