Take an test light an probe the stater wire and push the starter switch button if the test light lites up when you push starter button then your brushes is bad or brushes are sticking, IF not lite up than you have an wiring or relay bad.

I did as you suggested with test light. Starter was bad. Replaced it and it still will not engage. No more clicking from the relay --now getting a "buzz" instead from relay. Its a new relay but it could be bad. Ant way to check it? Any other ideas? Thanks again for the help!!

Yes! Okay read real close, Take relay off than take an paper clip and put in the two small wires, than take volt meter with an buzz box in it or do an conuity test with ohms.K get an batt put some jumper wires with gator clip on them PUT on the small wires,Than take the meter and put on the big post and if relay is good the buzz will go off or conutiy will read on meter! sometime an relay will click but won't touch the bigger post inside to send the volts to starter. You are just making relay to work backward so you can read it! Good Luck keep us updated.

Found the problem to be a bad starter that when replaced a fiber washer--don't ask me why, I don't have a clue why--was placed on the starter stud that is used for a ground whereby causing a bad ground!! Removed washer altogether and it starts and runs fine! Thanks for the help Papa Hogg Scoot!! Also thanks to ATV Connection Magazine for having these forums that help so much!! You'all HAND now, you hear!!!!!!
