I test rode a 2008 honda rancher es yesterday. It goes through all the gears but when it shifts to 4th there is no drive in that gear at all. When you hit the gas it grinds like the gears arent meshing all the way. Is there a sensor that will not allow gear to go in all the way, a bent fork, etc.. I am not at all familiar with how these ranchers shift but 4th does not drive. Basicly wondering if it will is an easy fix or if it needs to be torn apart to fix it. Thanks for you help.

 

Prolly an tear down! If bent fork it would effect the gears on the next shift with that fork IMO.I wouldn't think an cheap fix! prolly round 600.00 on tear down fee plus parts! Parts prolly around 200.00 or 300.00.
