Default 87 250x how does the rearend come apart?

ok guys i am trying to change the rearend bearings on my 250x i am lost on how the rear comes apart to change the bearings. i am thinking that the two nuts on the right side of the rear come out/off and the rear slids apart. but when i lossened the nut it went alittle ways then got real hard. please and thank you for all help.

It should come off. Maybe the threads are bunged up. Should be a nut on the right and an allen on the left.

it has two nuts on the right side but i am not real sure what the allen head you are referring to. it looks to me like the two buts come off and the rear end splits into two pieces. thanks and please make it to where i understand about the allen head lol

I thought you were talking about the swingarm. You must be talking about the axle. One is a locknut. Separate the two nuts from each other and then there is a circlip on the axle that has to come off.

Yup, have to loosen it enough to expose the circlip, then remove it. I swapped out an axle on my 300ex before selling it, and found the axle would not go through the housing, turns out there was a slight burr on the groove for the circlip, just had to smooth it with a file, and then hit the end of the axle with a hammer, using a block of wood on the end of the axle to protect the threads from damage.
