Default Recon 250 wire harness question

I have a 2005 250 Recon. The mice ate the wire harness. Worst of all they chewed it down near the pull start rope. No chance of splicing.

My question is: If I purchase new harness( which I have located for $113 on line). Is it a DIY install. I have no problem with plug ins but not sure about what to expect where the wire goes in to the engine near the recoil pull start.
Second Question..about how much LABOR cost should I expect to pay if I take it to dealer or other repair shop.

Thanks in advance for any help! Bob

some wiring harness change outs are not bad at all. just take notes, label with masking tape and sharpie, take pics, whatever works for you. have zip ties handy, and there you go! good luck
