Anyone ever riden hatfield-mccoy trail? I'm planning a ride for saturday June 9th and am looking for any input about the trail from someone who has ridden it. I live in virginia and i also have friends coming from pennsylvania and south carolina. We are planning on staying in Logan. We all have sport quads so i'm trying to avoid the most rocky trails. If anyone has been there let me know what you think. Also, if anyone wants to meet us there, let me know.

Dirtclog,

I'm in Newport News, VA. I may be interested in going along. Keep me in mind for the ride.

Been there, loved that! There were very few, if any, rocky trails at Hatfield/McCoy. Rock House and Bear Wallow are prefect for sport bikes, just some of the trails could have high pucker-factors. Go, and you'll never regret.

I ride the Bear Wallow trailhead all the time. You guys will love it! Just air the tires up to about 7 pounds and you are set. Plenty of technical stuff (the dark trails on the map) and high speed stuff as well. Perfect!!

I've looked at the site and noticed the long trails. Do you take along extra gas, like in one of those racks or did you put on a bigger tank? The possibility of a flat 20 miles from the trailhead would be a real bummer too!
