Default Honda Exhaust

Hello i have a 2001 honda 400ex all stock and want to get a better exhaust. Something that is really loud. My friends told me big gun or hmf would be good which one is the loudest of the 2. And they will be a slip on.

okay...for the sake of almost every ATV rider on the face of the planet, you need to change your perspective a bit...

Louder DOES NOT equal better performance...but it DOES create ill will by the general public towards ATV riders as a whole

Don't be THAT guy...and we all know who I'm referring to...that obnoxious jackass who rides an obnoxiously loud bike, thinking he's king **** because everyone's looking at him...but it's only because his bike is so damned loud.

The current trend is going for MORE noise regulation, not LESS, and you may find yourself unable to ride in many public or privately owned riding areas if your bike won't pass noise level tests. An uncorked HMF or other ear-splitter exhaust system will not pass these tests

Own your own place? well, excessive noise can be the basis for lawsuits and/or injunctions being filed against you by irritated neighbors. It happens all the time, and the loud rider almost always loses.

Remember that non-riders SIGNIFICANTLY outnumber riders and can out-vote us in almost anything that comes before a city council or other legislative organization. Non-riders have shut down plenty of riding areas...just ask the riders who used to ride the river in Spring, Texas.

So what do we do? we ride responsibly....we tread lightly, we pick up our trash, and we respect other's rights to enjoy the outdoors by not being a noise nuisance.

I know that HMF does make a good performance pipe, and if you'll get one with the "quiet core" insert for an additional $19.00, you will have a performance pipe that doesn't **** off the neighboring landowners and cause land closures. If you're gonna race your 400 on a track, the quiet core comes out quickly and easily for that little bit of extra performance

remember....louder is NOT better

Enjoy your 400....those are nice machines.

I've heard a Big Gun on my budddies utility, was LOUD n Nice. But I'd always go with HMF. The tone is better, in my opinion, and it still can give your buddies a headache
but if your riding in a highly populated area or in an area where no one knows you, i'd get the quiet core like TRL. says.

Noise dont equal power. That being said hmf are very loud. Are you looking for power or do you just want it to sound a certain way? If its power you want there a better options.

Haha this reminds me of the South Park episode where the Harley guys come in to town. They come in with loud exhaust while thinking they are cool when in reality, people are calling them "*******".

That said, go HMF.

QUOTE: "we have a huge variety of performance exhaust systems so that you have all the options you want. Our store is full of truck exhaust systems, car exhaust systems, diesel exhaust systems, SUV exhaust systems, dual exhaust systems"

WOW GraceGrace....so you carry it all....and maybe it's just me that feels this way, but if you're NOT specializing in motorcycle/ATV parts or exhaust, why are you posting anything in this forum? Folks are looking for help, answers, and opinions in this forum, not a broad claim from a company claiming "we do it all" and including unrelated links about translation services.

QUOTE: "Honda Exhausts, Mufflers & Tips are a power-packed combination of heart-pounding performance and smooth looks. With a focus on quality, all of our Honda exhausts, mufflers and tips offer a triple punch of performance power and style"

Really? Yeah, that's some awesome script writing, but exactly who is it that makes these heart-pounding performance products for Honda? (It sure isn't Honda)
And it sounds a lot more like you're trying to sell an exhaust for a Honda automobile than an ATV, especially when you look at the first quote which doesn't mention anything about motorcycle or ATV exhaust.

I would suggest that you clarify this with something better than scripted prose, or I will be asking the admins to take you off for net-botting answers and trying to advertise on the forum without paying.
