03 400ex

Default 03 400ex

so today i bought a 03 400ex for 800 i was told all it needs is rings i did here it run for a few and took it down the street and it seemed to run ok....but upon further review i noticed that there is a big chunk out of the carrier bearing on the right side of the sproket ..NOT GOOD...and the back brakes dont work at all tried bleeding them NO LUCK...and it needs wheel bearing in the front..and i have only gotten the valve cover off so we will see what else i find upon further inspection....im starting to think i got screwed

Be happy it runs for 800.00. You didn't buy a new one. If you have to put another 800. into it you still can't loose, cause around here they go 1800-3000

You didn't get screwed. A few hundred bucks (if you do the work yourself) and shes a good quad.

Well whoever the dumbasses were that put the piston in it they put it it the wrong way they had the exhaust side on the intake side DUH not smart

I'd be jumping for joy if I got an '03 for that price and that's all the work that it needed!

around here you can find a ragged 400ex for about $1200, a good looking one for $15-1600.. easy.

what state are you in?

your looking at 800 bucks for a new bearing carrier (good one)
rear brake mater pump isnt that expensive depends if u can get it from anotehr quad, you should get a service manual it will help u in the long run..

800 for a new bearing carrier . I have never paid over 125 for a standard single row carrier.
