Low compression could be them trying to read the compression gauge slowly turning the engine over,or while the decompression release is still on...If it doesn't have sufficient compression=it will NOT run...If it runs,it may be low on compression according to specs,but if it'll start,run smoothly,and haul you,and your stuff around,run it...GO get a 2nd opinion,most shops give them for free...

buy a compression gauge and check it yourself. that way you also have the tools to second guess the dealership. but as stated earlier, get a 2nd opinion.
