02 300ex

Default 02 300ex

hey guys, does anybody know were to get 300ex plastic pretty cheap

i just bought this 300ex couple days ago it runs good jus needs new plastic,i was also wonderin is it normal for the exhaust to be really hot after just ridin for 10 or 15 min its aftermarket slip on with factory pipe,it is really loud though an pops an almost like a backfire when u slow down thanks in advance guys.

Try Maier plastics for new plastic for the 300ex...they even have other colors than stock available.

Do you know if a richer jet was installed when the pipe was added? Running a performance pipe without running a richer jet will cause the engine to run lean most of the time, which will make it run hot and can cause serious damage to your engine.

I dont think so it seems to run ok i drove it some just aint had a chance to really give it a good goin through i though bought jus puttin stock exhaust back on for now or maybe try a bigger jet. Any ideas round wat size idk wat brand muffler it is, the logo is wore off

ok so i got to really drive the 300ex today an put it through some test everything seems to work fine, except it bogs around half throttle but runs fine when u let off a little.an im still unsure about the jets but purdy sure there factory.

Your lean.

Drop the clip a knotch. Richen it up by two jets and see where that gets you.

ok guys so i found out the pipe is fmf. an i tried gettin the carb apart but i guess the guy before me tried to cause most of the screws were stripped an i cldnt get it apart. so i cldnt check wat slot the needle was on but i got the drain bolt off an found out it has a 125 main jet. i cleaned it the best i cld with not bein able to get it apart.i also turned the screw on bottom out bout 2 5/8 turns.havent been able to try it yet though.

well rode today same problem as before. but i found out a exhaust stud is missin so thats probably were its leakin causin the backfire. i did check air filter an forgot to put lid on. tried crankin it an it wldnt at first then finally did but wldnt stay runnin.took seat off seen lid put on an fired right up so definately runnin lean. but got a 130 main jet an whole new exhaust on the way.
