I was just wandering what kind of modifications I could do to make a 300 EX give a banshee a little competition. My friend is going to get a Banshee and I was thinking of getting a 300EX. I want to be able to keep up with him while out riding...

Thanks,
Chad

sorry bud, but that is like saying my friend is getting a new corvette and I want my cavalier to run with him. It would be cheaper to buy a Raptor or equivalent.

i know how you can make it beat his banshee.... drop a banshee motor in there and it will rip... if you are feeling extreme maybe a snowmobile engine or a street bike engine
if that fails you knw how the saying is
"if you cant beat em'... join em'"

Not a chance of making a 300EX that fast. If you could even do that it wouldn't be reliable. Why not buy a Banshee yourself???

Get the 330 kit for it, it can out run a bone stock 400ex by 2quads and a banshee can beat a 400ex by 3quads so you would run with him in the woods but in the open he would be gone.

Ben is right, on a small tight track I can take a banshee, but on a bigger track and in open spaces I suck dust on my EX. The 330 kit is great and reliable, but if your gonna spend the money, just save it for a bit longer and get something that will be equally competitive.

Sure you can sink 5 thousand big ones into the 300EX motor and beat a stock banshee. But then your friend will spend a few hundred bucks on pipes and you'll once again be tasting his roost.

Then you can sink another couple thousand dollars into your motor to beat the piped banshee. But then your friend will spend about 40 bucks getting the head shaved, and you will once again be pelted with his roost

With all the money you would have to sink into that 300 motor it would be wise to just go with the 400EX or the Banshee.
