I have a set of nerfs on both my quads and i don't think I'll ever take them off. If i were you I would definitely spend the money and get a good set. I like my DG alloy series on my EX as far as just a bolt on type. My Graydons on my DS are great and very sturdy, but I didn't enjoy all the drilling required for installation.

I will try to get a pic of my AC's Pro Peg on here tonight. They are the most bad *** mod I have done. They save my butt daily, I can pick the quad up by the nerfs. I have shimmied through rocky canyons literally on the nerfs love them!

Actually, The holes lined up perfect, just the holes were too small. I did call AC's helpline, and asked about this. Their response was that it ensures a tighter fit, as in mass production, the holes would likely be too big and cause a loose fit. I would stay away from steel nerfs as they will rust, and are kinda heavy. Aluminum nerf are very light and will not rust. About strength of aluminum NB's, I have had all the weight of my fat sack of a carcass on the outer rim of my AC's while riding agressivly many times, and have had no bending as a result. Another thing to consider is that AC's and (I think) Graydon Proline nerfs' are even with the pegs, while the DG's I had on the blaster I used to have are below the peg. This last thing is personal preferance, so you should consider that when looking

I've been seriously thinking of getting these for my 300ex because i dont feel like snapping a leg.
I have one problem though....On many quads that ive seen there was a gap (like someone else just said) between the back of the nerfs and the fender which leaves enough room for your foot to slip back there. Does anyone have any pics of a 300ex with nerfs so i can see if there's a gap there?

The only reason I have nerfs is for MX racing. I absolutely believe in them for that. Otherwise, I think they are ugly, add weight, and just all around suck.

With my AC's, I didn't have to remove anything, so there is no gap there. Plus, if it's a big issue, AC makes a clamp-on kit that puts heel protectors on their nerfs.

I would not leave home with out them. They look cool, and they are an excelent safety feature. 88 250R DG alloy nerfs,00 400EX AC alloy nerfs I like them both.

i say " get a set "

i had a 88 Mojave , i never raced , just rode hard around , i dont have riding boots either

mine only had foot pegs , no gaurds behind ur foot either like on the newer Mojaves, NOTHING

[ just that peg , "stareing" u down , to gut u , when u roll trying 2 do a "rainbow" ..... =8~0 ]

like most of us w/ older racers , i have experinced , oooooooooo that WONDERFULL feeling of ur shin digging in ur foot peg , while ur foot is under ur rear tire

i never had / used nerf bars

if i get another racer i think i would invest in a set

they look MEAN , 2 me @ least

& like the other rider said , they can act as a gaurd from trees / brush .

luvs from PA........i'm a chick.........it's kewl
