Honda Rancher 350 ES fuel starvation or predetonation
Honda Rancher 350 ES
Idles fine, but when you try to go thru the gears it starts "cuttin out" and "pinging".
Drained the tank, and the bowl on carb put in new fuel, cleaned the air breather and put new foam on.
Plug appears to be fine but the parts store didn't have a replacement, they had to order it.
I have not found a fuel filter on this atv, Im sure its there but havn't located it.
Started all of the sudden 2 days ago.
Would fuel with ethonol case this? I replaced with non-ethonol
All replys are appreciated,
Thanks,
Eric

What would the mechanic have charged me?
Went out to the shop after this post, my intentions where to take off the tank check the petcock and work my way back to the carb and find this problem.
After I took off the side panels to get to the tank I found my problem.
Thats when I started laughing and exclaimed WHAT THE HECK IS THAT!
There was a mud dauber nest in my air duct leading to the airbox cutting off the airflow. I knocked it out and the issue is solved.
Gotta love those simple things
