I bought a 12 function Bell speedometer a wile back, and want to know how you guys mount them. I already spliced in a peice of speaker wire about 1-2 feet long. I was planing on putting the pick up sensor on the caliper by the rim, and following the wire up the brake line, and steering colum. Anyone have a better or different setup? Thanks.

I tried one on the 400ex I had. Also, put it in the same location you are describing.
It was a huge waste of time. MPH seemed about right up to about 30 mph and then was off really bad, even though the calibration was correct.
Same those pennies and Get a GPS unit!!!!

Trail Tech makes some impressive speedos for dirtbikes and ATV's, much better than adapting a bicycle computer, but not as functional as a GPS. Anyhow, check out this link.
